Hi everyone /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I have a 3pt backhoe question. I have a B4672 backhoe on my B7610.

What position should the 3point lower link arms be in - up or down?

Thanks!

The manual for my BL4672A backhoe says down.

The lower link arms should be resting on or near to resting on the pipe/bar from the backhoe like in the attached picture. My BL4672A is also an a B7610.

You may also find that replacing the stabalizer chains with telescoping arms makes general 3 pt implement changes easier and makes it easier to put the backhoe back on. Here is a thread here on TBN where I switched to the telescoping arms.

thanks Dave. I couldn't find that info in my manual. Thanks for the conversion info too. That looks great and I will definitely do that soon.

Hey Dave, did you loose something on the floor, there, in that pic? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Yeah, I did. Funny story goes with those rags too. Story is in the 3 pt thread I refer to, but I'll repeat it.

My grandson noticed I had old underware in my tool box and asked why. I told him it was used as a cleaning rag. He said: "ugh, how gross," made a face and walked away. My son-in-law was there and we both had a good laugh over that. A few years have passed now and my grandson is interested in dirt bikes. He'll discover all on his own about rags and how important they are.

By-the-way, I really like your avitar.

That backhoe manual isn't laid out very well. I just went through it this past week looking for hydraulic fluid type and quantity. I just happened to remember seeing the instruction.

My B4672/B4690 manual has the note about keeping lever down on page 36. Lower left side.

Hey folks -

Question for you: since you both seem to be using a 3PH backhoe - do you have any regrets / worries / "wish I'd bought a subframe mount instead.."

Reason I'm asking: I've got a number of stumping / rock removal projects to complete - the local home & garden center apparently raised their rental rates - so I'd run me @ $500 / weekend for a TLB rental.

I'm reviewing my "BH To Do" list - and I'm getting close to where an outright purchase is starting to make economic sense. I took the liberty of asking my dealer - they quoted me @ $5500 for a 3PH Woods B6500 - which seems like a pretty good deal - that's 11 weekend rentals. I think the "convenience" of saying "it's dry out - so let me tackle that stump" - rather than hoping for a dry spell over a weekend is just more practical. (We've had a soggy spring here in New England - so things have been delayed..)

My limitation: I have a MMM - so apparently this cannot be used with a subframe-mounted BH...which most people seem to think is preferrable for heavy work. I'm not planning on continuous "heavy-duty" work - just some occasional stuff....but enough now to make a BH purchase potentially justifed.

Any feedback appreciated!

Dan

I have a B7800 with a sub frame mounted backhoe. I havn't removed it yet, but it looks easy to remove the backhoe and frame. You would want to remove the backhe when mowing to reduce the weight of the tractor on the grass. Considering this I would suggest the sub frame backhoe.
