I have a B7800 which will not hold an implement up any longer than an hour. Implement weight < 750#, the dealer says this is normal and I should deal with it. Kubota is non committal on the subject. Kubota just says that the B7800 will pick up 750#. Someone please help. I can't afford this /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif.

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger. I parked my B7510HST one night with a KK box blade (~350 lb) raised on the 3PH. Sure enough, it was on the garage floor next morning.

This may be normal for Kubota 3PHs, but IIRC there are at least a few posts in these forums remarking how rock solid the hydraulics are on the 3PHs of other brands, including the much maligned Chinese Jinma brand. According to these posters the 3PH on these tractors stay put for days.

Leak down of the B7800 3PH is normal. When brush hogging, I routinely raise it an inch or so every 10 minutes or so to compensate. I don't park with an implement raised above anything that I don't want to crush. No big deal.

Huh?

Some 3pts leak down some don’t…
With position control it should not matter as the 3pt will always readjust itself and you will not be aware of it. When you are not operating the tractor if it leaks down it should be of no concern.
I had a MF65 that had many hours, it would leak down in a few hours. My Kubota will hold my 7 foot land pride solid over night without moving any, that mower is well over 800 pounds. Some will leak down some won’t… at least not yet … KennyV.

Thanks for the input, the B7800 has a quarter inching valve which is the source of the bleed down. I have owned several tractors over several years and have never had a 3PH drop like this one while the engine is running.

this tractor 3PH has tanked a 5' mower into my drip lines so many times i have patch lines all over 2 1/2 acres.

As has been said before, some drop and some don't. This holds true for ALL brands. If your lucky you will get one that doesn't.

I just can't imagine this is normal. 1/4 inching valve or not.
A 3 point leaking down that fast would be useless for brush mowing (or at the very least extreamly annoying with the constant readjusting to maintain cut height.)
I had a hydraulic tilt cylinder that would leak down like that, I found it so annoying during brush mowing I took it off and threw it away. Replaced it with a hydraulic tilt cylinder with check valve, no more leakdown.
Both my tractors will hold up heavy implements up for days and days when not running with minimal leakdown. ( and my JD 850 is 27 years old)

My Kubota's 3-pt will leak down over the course of a day when it is parked but surely it shouldn't do it when running and the hydraulic system is pressurized. ??????? That would seem to indicate that something is very wrong.

Our old JD 820 at the farm has a small leak around the PTO shaft, not enough to justify ripping it apart, and it's 3-pt arms will leak down about an inch while mowing but it resets itself to the original height about every 15 minutes so that it's not much of a problem but then again, I'm not mowing over irrigation lines. I don't know how large or heavy your irrigation lines are but could it be that your updraft blades on the mower are sucking them off the ground??

With position control the 3 point will reset itself while running if it leaked down.
Its my understanding that the 1/4 inching valve does not. Thats why I personally do not like 1/4 inching valves. (My opinion only)
