It is 5ft wide and 6ft long. I am trying to find out what the spacing is for a cat 1. 3pt and a cat 2 3pt. I have a disc that has the pins mounted facing each other for a Cat 1 and if you turn them around it would be a Cat 2. I need to confirm this is true before I weld the angle for the lift arm mounts

I should be working on it some more this week. I will post more pics soon

I have a grade master that used a pin that has two diameters and runs through 3 angle irons so it is cat 1 and cat 2. Spacing for cat 0 is 20", 1 is 26", 2 is 32" and 3 is 38".

Here are some more pictures, it is almost done at this point with the exception on a brace for the top link and possibly a swinging gate of some sort on the very rear of it to really smooth out material. I am doing some test runs today and will post some more pictures when done. We decided at the last minute to shorten the thing by a foot or so to make it more maneuverable. There will be a bracket added for mounting suite case weights on it if needed.

Just to give you an idea of how beefy this is - the angle you see is 1/2 inch thick !

The grader looks great! Will you be using it to maintain a driveway or does it have another use? Nice work and look forward to seeing some pictures of it in action.

We added an adjustable cutting edge on the first piece of angle today. This was added after a very successful test run with out it on. A storm moved in and I have not gotten a chance to retest with the edge. The edge is 1/2 inch hardened steel that has been sharpened for cutting. It has three elongated holes for adjustment. We welded nuts under the angle so all you have to so is looses three bolts to adjust. The pictures below are not that great but Its all I have at the moment. I forgot to take pictures before and after of the lane - but I will do so on friday and post

Captjack,
Is the beveled edge of the hardened steel parallel and in contact with the ground? Hard to tell from the photos but it appears you have it facing up?

Nice work so far, the next one I build will be with 4x4x1/2" angle iron too. Mine is more complicated than necessary, I used 1/2"x8" wide flatbar set at 45 degrees and have 3x3x3/8 angle iron bracing front and back. Super heavy and very rigid but overbuilt. I used the 6" wide double edged grader blades 5/8" thick to build my 8' wide grader plane.

I think you will like the long runners that is one of the key parts of a good plane.
