When using the 3pt hitch I find it's too high to connect easily. To get an easy connection I have to block up the attachment. I don't think this is normal.

Is there a way to lower the lower arms of the 3pt hitch.

Whe using the attachment, whether it's the tiller, or counter weight, the attachment is level. But, the lower arms don't come down enough to make the hook up as easy as it seems it should be. To use the tiller as an example I have to have it 3" off the ground. To rest it on the ground and connect I have to lift it up about the same amount to use the QH. With the tiller weighing about 350lbs, this quite a task to do.

Am I right on this? Or do the lower 2 arms need to be lowered some how?

I'm not sure exactly what the BX 3 point looks like, but there are two ways to adjust most 3 points. There are usually several different holes to attach the linkages to (as well as a turnbuckle type adjustment on one side to level the hitch. Look at the lift arms and see if they can be attached such that it goes lower. The other alternative (which would be odd) is that the shaft that the hydraulic cylinder attaches to and lifts the arms is not correctly indexed. Not sure if that is even possible on the BX but tracing the connections back you should be able to tell if it could be installed wrong.

What model of tractor do you have?

Ok I just checked your profile BX 2360. Open the flow control under the seat more. Also if you place down pressure ( your foot) while lowering helps. I had the same problem when mine was new.

Jeff is correct, open your flow control valve and the arms should drop completely. Just remember to re-adjust it after you hook up or the implement will drop like a rock when you lower it. I keep everything inside on dollies with casters so it is very easy to move the tools into position and also raises them 3-4 inches off the floor.

Dan, my BX25 3-point wouldn't let my pallet forks hit the floor. I bought another turnbuckle adjuster (about $35, I think) which allowed me to lower it the inch or so that I needed.

You can adjust the drop of the Three Point Hitch mechanically by changing which position Lift Arm stirrups connect to the Lower Link beams. This is a pin adjustment. (Two stirrup holes on one side, three stirrup holes on the other side.)

Also, which of the three holes the stirrups are connected to along the Lower Link beams affects how low the Three Point Hitch can drop. Default is the third hole along the beam, AWAY from the tractor.

Jeff,

I looked at my 2360, and I don't have the adjustment pins like is shown in the link you posted. The vertical turnbuckle is on the left lift arm as shown, but that only lowered the right side lift arm. The only thing I can see is to remove the upper arms and re-position them on the spline. This may be a warm weather project, since I don't use the 3pt hitch during the winter.

Maybe post a pic of your 3 pt setup. I have a different tractor but my arms will almost touch the ground when lowered. I have to be mindful of what position the arms are before I run the tractor so I don't hit something low backing up.
As you mentioned, it is possible the arms were installed on the wrong spline at the factory.

Here are a few pics of my hitch.

As you can see there is no adjustment in the lower lift arms. I tried to take a photo of the spline area as well. I opened the flow valve all the way and lowers the hitch to its lowest possible point for the photos.
