3pt hitch

Re: 3pt hitch (Specs)

While I have no direct application for the info on the 3PH you've been posting on, I have enjoyed following it. The good drawings really add something to the discussion. Keep it up.....................chim

Re: 3pt hitch (Specs)

That's exactly why I asked the question about the specs. My Cub Cadet has a 3-pt hitch. And I could easily go out and measure the arms, etc. But, being an engineer, I would prefer to read and understand the specs before I go about laying down the designs for my implements. Guess I'll have to use the empirical method.

Thanks

Thanks xantherx.
You went way beyond the call of duty in sharing all of that info! I'd bet many got good ideas including me. You are right about Agri Supply, I've bought Speeco 3 pt components for 1/2 the cost in local farm supply stores here in the midwest.
Thanks again for the great pics, drawings, and info
Nick

Re: 3pt hitch (Specs)

Rozett,

There is an industry spec. I can't remeber if it is an SAE or it might be an ISO one now. I tried doing a search yesterday for it, but came up empty. I'll post if I can dig up something.

Re: 3pt hitch (Specs)

The ASAE spec for cat 1 is 26" horizontal from the inside of 7/8" lower lift pin to inside of 7/8" lower lift pin and on a vertical plane 15" above is a 3/4" top link pin. Check the attachment.

Re: 3pt hitch (Specs)

Nick,

What is the part number for the pin that you have on your 3-pt that connects the lift arm linkage to the actual lift arms of the tractor (the two that stick out the back of the tractor)?

Do you know what pins I mean? They are threaded, and attach to the adjustable linkage that then goes to the lower lift arms.

Thanks in advance for telling me about Agri-Supply.

Re: 3pt hitch (Specs)

I am not sure that we are talking about the same thing. If you look at the post on the previous page that says " here is a closer look", and you look at that picture on the left hand side of the the picture at the top, there is a pin that is threaded on one end and then has a smooth pin like look, like a forged 3-pt implement lift pin that you could purchase from ASC or something. I want a pin that has the 1/2" threaded end on it, is what I am saying for that purpose. One, that I can put a lift arm linkage on, that goes downward to the lift arm, from the actual lift arms on the tractor, so that I can put a ball end adjustable lift arm to the actual lift arms on it.

Sorrry for the mis-use of the "jargan", I am just not sure what to call it.
