3pt hitch?

I should add I use it for moving big farm machinery around in and out of sheds, around the yard, with my small maneuverable tractors. is why I was looking for a good strong one again. Lifting the chisel plow makes the tractor grunt about as much as a 1500# round bale, so some of those lighter welded ones I’m scared of. Need to slip in pin hitch, small ball hitch, and big ball hitch for the different things I move from time to time. I need it heavy duty but light weight, I switch a lot of machinery with crops and livestock and hay….

The cheaper ones seem very light on that vertical connection, or very light pin connections to the hitch ears. The heavy build ones seem - heavy as well as expensive. The one I have seems a good compromise.

Might have to practice with the welder some myself maybe.

Thanks for the ideas, good replies! JDW, that looks interesting….

Looks like something Saginaw used to sell. They closed down years ago, but you can sometimes find their hitches secondhand on classifieds or auction sites.

That is what I like about this forum, sharing ideas that will help each other. I like to fabricate things rather than buying.

Another one I built which is multi functional. Carry's five John Deere weights, removable forks, removable boom pole, Carry's sprayer, and mid deck for cleaning.

This is the $55 version I bought on Amazopoly. Its moved my utility trailer loaded a few times, and should be able to move my travel trailer (says it can handle 3000 lbs and the tongue weight is under 1000 lbs).

I made this one from a drawbar and some angle iron.

My hitch is abit heavier but quite functional.
I've also set it up with limiter chains so a trailer can lift it to high.
The yellow stands are removable, but make it easy to hookup.
