I have a MF135 diesel, that when ever I use the 3pt lift now with something on it, the arms shutter or bounce when raising the 3pt? I have replaced the filter when I split the tractor in half and has new fluid as well. Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Mine does it too, kind of.
I only notice it when I have something raised and engine is at half speed or idle and the equipment is raised. Is that what you are talking about?

I'd pull my hdy. dipstick and see if the oil is foamy. if it is , the pump is sucking air. doesn't seem likely tho cause it's submerged in the reservoir. your oil level is up on the dipstick right? You gotta start somewhere!

The oil on the dipstick was at a good level, between the two lines. It is not foamy, I drained the fluid and all seemed to be good. I have did some research and it appears I should be using a "perma trans 3" hydraulic fluid instead of tractor supply "traveler hydraulic fluid" would this be the culprit /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif?

Thanks for the feedback so far.

7mm, I also have a 135 and what I found that can cause this problem is;
#1 Check when tractor is cold , Lowest Drain plug on bottom of trans , Loosen it up let all the water out...Yes water especially if it sits outside..
#2 also the shifter boots and 3ph top link spring/shock can let water in, Have you recently washed your tractor?this can also happen from temp changes due to condensation (but less likely) Hot days cool nights ...

Hope this helps /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

EDIT:
I just read your last post again, Well sorry for the BAD advice, I see you already checked the drain plug .

Could be the fluid, /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif not sure on this one ?? Maybe a pump relief problem or pump problem ? HOPE NOT..

If the lift bounces it stops raising that is caused by a leak in the system what causes by the lift leaking down and then the position will correct it back to the set height. If it bounces as it is raising that is usually caused by either broken rings on the pump piston or the intake or discharge pump valves not holding. Now and then you will have one that the master control spring being loose will cause that.

The 3pt does raise when you put a load on it, however it just shutters/bounces as it is raised up. As well when you get the 3pt half way up and you want it to stop, it just bounces at the specified height you stopped at.

It might not be a bad idea to go ahead and pull the top cover if you are capable, replace the piston rings on the lift cylinder, as well as the pressure relief valve and control valve on the belly pump. This is a very simple design and not a lot to go wrong.
