The 3pt lift on my tl2700f doesn't function correctly. I am sure I am probably missing a couple springs. I can lift it with no problem, but sometimes when it has been in the up possition for a while it won't come down without shocking it. By shocking it I mean to pull up on the 3 pt lever and quickly push down on the lever...not a gentle drop. It also does not stay at the level that I set. I have to keep a hold of the lever when I am mowing and constantly make corrections. If I set a height and let go of the lever it will drop. I am aware that the lever on the dash is supposed to let you return to a pre set height after you lift the 3 pt...correct? There isn't a cable to the dash lever (I assume it is cable operated). Thanks,

Hi I don't know if I can help much. My TL2900F has the 3pt over-ride like yours does. It is cable operated. It (the cable) is attached to an L-shaped rod attached to the same rod coming out of the housing that the main 3pt lift lever (inside) is attached to. This L-shaped rod needs to be fully back to be in the down position.
Also wondering if the knob under the seat is properly adjusted. It controls the rate of drop. Gerry

On my finsh mower I put check chains to the mower. these chains hook to the top link pin whare it hooks to the tractor and goes down to where the bottom links hook to the mower. My mower had slots from the factory to hook the chains but you can hook them to the pins. This keeps the mower at the same level..........Larry

Thanks for the help! When you set a height with your 3 pt lift lever, does it stay at that location or does it just drop to the bottom on the slot, thus lowering your tool? This is what mine does. I think I have the knob under the seat adjusted correctly. Normally, the up and down funtion works fine...sometimes it gets stuck in the up position if it has been there for a while. That is when I have to shock it to lower the 3 pt. Also, The l shaped bar on the dash should be up against the dash for the 3 pt to be lowered...then you pull the lever out to set you final height? Where is the cable routed to attach the dash lever to the 3 pt controls?

I cant help you on that it sounds like it is different than my TL3200. I set my hight level by the three point controls beside the seat. I use the dash control to rase the 3point at the end of a row and when I put the dash control down it goes back to the level I have it set at with side controls. My tractor has rod linkage not cable. I know mine is messed up under the seat but it still works ok.........Larry

Hi On my TL2900 there are two levers to the right of the seat which control the 3pt hitch. When I set the height of the implement (inside lever) I must then align the outside lever even with the inside lever in order for it to maintain the set height. The lever below the dash is simply an over-ride that allows the implement to be lifted ie; at the end of a row. When lifted, the implement goes up and when pushed down the 3pt returns to its preset height. It has nothing to do with setting the height on the 3pt itself.
If you have levers or cables missing maybe you could try moving the rods that come out of your transmission housing where the 3pt controls are to try and identify which does what. You may need to remove some of the sheet metal in this area to do this safely since it may be necessary to have an implement attached to test this properly. Gerry

Where can I get the linkage for the dash mounted lever that operates the 3pt lift? Where can I get the lever that is next to the 3pt lift lever to the right of the seat? And has anybody used rigid sway linage instead of chains? My 3pt gets into my tires too often. I have a tension chain betweeent the lower arms but it gets in the way of the pto shaft on my mower.
