Anyone have a problem with the 3PT only creeping up slowly? I think I have a blocked hydrualic line somewhere....I found pressure backing up from the return line to my front end loader....which locks up on me...Any Ideas? FX20D model.

Unless you know for sure that it has been cleaned recently, it's probably a plugged hydraulic pickup/return screen. On the older models it's usually located in the front of the rear differential behind a 3 cornered plate where the return line leads back to the pump. Requires draining/replacing fluid.

After you do what Normde said, check to make sure it has the right filter on it, the correct Yanmar filter should have the following on it. CAPA CP-145VL-35. Some of the after market hydraulic filters will starve the hydraulic pump of oil. There is also a filter in the Hydraulic reservoir if you have power steering. The pick up screen is on the right side on your model.

Thanks, I located the three cornered plate on the right side. I will remove that tomarrow (Thurs). Can you give me some kind of idea on what this will look like and what to expect when I remove it? Is this something that would block the flow?

It's a cylinder shaped screen and it may be covered with slime.

According to my manual you need to drain hydrolic fluid before you remove that plate. Manual says every 300 hours or annually. I probably should clean and change oil also.

After removing the three bolts I ended up breaking of the plate in pieces trying to get it out. It appears as though there is a hex-head bolt or plug that is recessed below this plate, possibly a plug. I also managed to strip that trying to remove it. It looks as though that bolt/plug needs to be removed before the screen will slide out.....This is becoming my nightmare and a complete waste of time and money for me...I have to figure out how the **** to get that plug out now...

Ok, I was able to remove the screen filter today with a lot of assistance from everyone, special thanks to Ernie, Arron and Norm. I'm somewhat surprised though, this filter didn't seem dirty enough to cause the problem I'm experiencing however I'll find out after I replace the screen and new replacement plate... I don't know much about hydraulics but maybe this will fix the problem......I'm skeptical at this point!!

Again thanks for your input!!!!

Scott,
Glad you got the latest problem fixed, or working for now. But, hey, I can't help but notice that this is a relatively new tractor (for you) and that you are having some problems with it. What does the dealer say / do for you at this point? Is this a recon unit? who's the retailer for you? I'm not meaning to stir things up, but we should raise other ppls awareness to problems... Thanks, and good luck! -art
