I just purchased a series 10 Landpride tiller, 42", about 10 years old, but in good shape, very heavy duty looking/feeling, offsets, 3 extra tines, for $600. How did I do? I plan to use in on my 16hp B7100. Does anyony else have any experience with this brand? My local Kubota dealer carries it.

Sounds like you did OK. I don't have an LP tiller, but I do have an LP rake and R.B. I looked at the tillers at the dealers. It seems like most of the LP fleet is built pretty well. Of course there seems to be a corresponding incresed cost also. Bottom line is; where I'm at even a low end tiller is going to set you back $1000.00 (new).

I'm a little interested to know why you're asking AFTER the fact? What if we were to tell you that that tiller is pure crap and that you overpaid by about $400?
Seriously, you probably did just fine. Even the gray market Yanmar tillers that are being brought in usually go for $400 to $600.
New tillers are usually from about $900 up.
If your tiller is in good working order, has good tines, then you did fine. Landpride tillers are expensive, and are supposedly very good products. John

KiotiJohn,
Boy, you are tough on a guy! I tried to find out info. ahead of time about the tiller, but I didn't have much time. Most used equipment, if its in half decent shape, goes VERY fast here in RI. There are few tractor dealers/equipment supply type stores around and the ones that do exist only seem to have new equipment, $$$. So I went ahead and made the purchase anyway and I just wanted to see how I did. Does that answer your question?

I hope you noticed that my third sentence started with "seriously" so that you'd know that I wasn't serious in the beginning!
I figured it was a case of buy it or lose it. I'm just glad I didn't have to say that it's crap equipment, but good stuff.
I rarely can find any good implement deals on used stuff around here. Enjoy! John
