Nice. Tell me how effective the unit is in laying wire underground. How deep will it go? I have several hundred feet of runs I need to make, and this unit would save me a ton of time on the BH.

It worked very well for me. Depth was about 12" to 14" or so...I made "dry" runs first to ensure the ground was softer and no obstructions such as large rocks or roots where in the way before loading the cable. There are quite a few other threads about those things-with some better ideas than I had used.

What do you want to bury?

Mainly just electrical, I on a generator at my property and have extension cords above ground running to all the trailers and such. I just want to clean things up and put everything underground. If it works out ok, I may try to run some half inch water line.

I have seen a thread a while back when someone put down plastic conduit or waterpipe in the same way. He did 50 or so foot runs and then pulled the wire into the conduit with fishing tape. Same idea as KennyD with steel pipe connected to a subsoiler and the conduit layed down through that.

That would be nice, it would save some money on wire if I was able to buy the stuff that requires conduit.
