3pt Wood pellet maker

I was just looking around and I came across a 3pt wood pellet maker. If I had money to burn it would be great cause I have a stair company that fills the 8yard dumpster each week with saw dust and a hardwood company that takes out semi loads every month. I think it was makeyourownpellets.com The $5000 price tag is too steep for me.

Don't run it with your tractor, use an industrial motor. I expect you have 3 phase at your company. That would be less expensive to run and you could sell pellets to people with pellet-burning stoves.
A possible sideline business. Diversification is a good thing in these times!

I watched the video on that PTO pellet maker. The entire 4 minute video focuses on the outfeed. They could have just been pouring store bought pellets through the machine. The camera operator was very careful not to shoot anything above waist height.

Hmm... at my local prices, it would have to make 18 tons of pellets to break even. After that, you'd be sitting pretty.

If they are taking out semi loads, they are probably selling it for a good penny.

Several years ago, there was a Wall Street Journal article about how sawdust went from a waste product to a scare and expensive raw material. IIRC, they mentioned how one outfit had to go 500 miles and pay 3x as much to obtain saw dust.

You don't know what kind of quality a machine like that produces. Maybe machines like that are why so many people are complaining about poor pellet quality.
