I drained the hydraulic tank, put a 10 micron spin off filter just before the tank inlet banjo, then put in new fluid(10 wt). No leaks. The first few times I raised and lowered the 3PTH, no load, it was smooth at all RPM. After 20 minutes of running and looking for leaks the 3PTH will jerk up from bottom to the top at idle but is smooth at full throttle. Any comments?

Did you recheck the fluid level after adding that filter? If it is a little low now, sometimes that is a common behavior at low rpms.

It was low so I overfilled it big time and it is smooth now. Thanks for the help. I in addition to the inline filter I also added two QC's for future loader and backhoe. I put one of the QC's is in the wrong place so sooner or later I will have to drain and replumb the return line.
About the time I got my tractor there was discussion as to screw in or not to screw in the dipstick on level checking. Was there any conclusions on the right way to do it? I just over filled and let it splash out until it stopped.

Glad you got it going ....

I check / fill with the dip stick not screwed in.

I do not recommend a hydraulic filter for the Jinma's to be less than 30 micron's.

Might I ask why? For a suction line filter I would agree with you. But for a return line filter with internal bypass why not? As the filter clogs over time the bypass is supposed open at a low pressure.

I did not pick up on that you installed it on the return side ..... I assumed you put it on the suction side.
