What are you guys using for a switch to control your 3rd function. I致e found a few post on here where guys use ATV winch controls mounted to the joystick and some with joysticks with switch built in. Need advise on both.
Thanks

I bought all the pieces to the John Deer grip for my build.

Some (like myself) put relays between the control grip & the solenoid and others have used it without and report no problems. Choice is yours.

My personal implementation of relays was probably a little over kill for most folks but I'm a techno-nerd sometimes and it seemed like the thing to do at the time.

All the parts & part numbers should be in my write-up.

Going to try moulding a micro switch into existing loader knob. Black urethane adhesive (Sticks anything to anything and dries like rubber). I'll run wires down the lever. Use a solenoid if needed. Hopefully look OEM.

Michael how do you like your switch setup and would you change anything. Do you remember where you got the split couples and how good did they weld, most I’m seeing are carbon steel.

Double split collars were from Amazon. I had to buy 1/2" and sand them to 13mm. They MIG welded fine. I don't have much time using it, and the time I do have was routing the lines to the rear for my top cylinder. It seems fine. I'll know more in a month when I get my Wicked 60. I don't know that I would change anything.

The W&R Long 3rd function kit for my Kubota L6060 came with a replacement joystick knob. It has a rocker switch and an unused push button switch molded in. The illuminated on/off switch is mounter on the shaft.

The W&R Long kit for my Kubota MX5800 is similar with shrink tubing holding the wires against the joystick.

Both work well and have a solid feel. They should be available from W&R Long as replacement parts.

They have them but $$$. I'm going to make my switched knob for backhoe joystick. I'd like to keep them looking the same. Loader switched knob will come in the kit. Summit Hydraulics. $339. For up to 13gpm. Hope I'm not making mistake buying less $$$ components. WR long is 2x price. Screenshot_20190220-161153.jpeg

I went with a switch on the side of my joystick. Thread here: https://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/hydraulics/408000-diy-kubota-3rd-function-mx4800.html?highlight=

I looked at the ATV gearshift handle and didn't want to risk it not fitting well. If also is not waterproof. The Polaris shift shaft is not just a plain round shaft.

I did the same and did a write up on it for my Bobcat. Has workes flawlessly and is very easy on the hands
