The problem comes when the servo valve is installed, it is round and has two possible ways of being installed, if you are not careful making sure the ports on the servo valve match the ones on the hydraulic spool valve you have a problem like mine, I was told to remove the servo, check the matching of the ports and if not matched to rotate the servo valve, each part has 5 ports, two on one side of the face and three on the other, seems simple if you know what you are looking for, the problem is that the wires come from the left when facing the valve and one would assume the Solenoid would be on the left, which if done this way causes the ports not to be in alignment, the reason my valve had limited use, is because two of the ports are slightly oval and when installed wrong will still partly cover the three holes but will not operate properly.
I removed the servo valve, rotated it 180 degrees, re-installed and now everything works perfectly.

If anyone needs more information just post or email me.
Thanks for your interest and help
Jim

Part Two: My Current request for help

Back to view this old problem, today, Dec 24,2018 I decided to try and find out what is wrong now, having not used this plow since 5 or 6 years I now find that my plow will not angle, so decided to read and see what the original problem was, the valve body at that time had to be rotated and my problem was solved, this time nothing works using the switch and buttons to activate solenoid that diverts the hydraulic oil to angle the blade, my problem has to be, either electrical or mechanical, I need help details in doing both.
Thanks for your help and patience,
God bless all and have a Merry Christmas, Jim

Check for voltage (use volt meter) at solenoid while operating switch/buttons.... IF you have voltage at solenoid its probably mechanical (solenoid?), if no voltage at solenoid with switch/buttons operated, its probably electrical...

IF you don't have volt meter, this will do... Connect across solenoid, light "on" you have power, light "off" you have no power....

I have various volt meters from really cheap to quite expensive and for basic 12 volt DC trouble shooting this is simplest tool (not good for digital/computer circuits however)...

Ahhh - I would guess the electrical contacts are corroded. First attempt to clean, if access is available. If still - no joy, replace.

I would have to remove the connection block at the solenoid valve to check for power, correct?

Two checks one at valve, next is power straight to the valve. If valve does not work, disconnect both wires and measure ohms. If you read a few ohms resistance it might be stuck, smack a few times both with and without juice, might fix itself.

Thanks, I'll do this when I can get someone to help, don't think I can manage alone. Would I just tap the side of the solenoid with a light hammer ?
I'll let you know the results

Have a Merry Christmas

I would tap with hammer handle, not too hard on the plastic -

Hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas, I just want to update my problem getting my 3:rd function to work, at first I thought it was a faulty switch in my joystick, since after removing the switch cover I could see there was no power going to the 3:rd function solenoid valve connection and also no power at the disconnect ,( seven contact plug feeding loader), there had been power earlier, so I decided to trace to the source and found that this wire is connected directly to the tractor on the left side and an odd type fuse is OK and there is power at the fuse, I have never seen this type of fuse, it is made of black plastic and has pointed metal ends with a thin strip of exposed metal on one side joining the ends, 10 amps is stamped on it, I then went to the connection this wire feeds, the seven contacts, and it no longer has any power, what I find odd is this 7 contact plug had a loose connection and I took the plug apart to make a secure connection, I re-assembled the 7 contact plug, checked the contact that brought power from the tractor to the solenoid and had power, but some how I lost power after assembling the plug, no power to this plug, no power to the joystick, no power to the solenoid, I will disassemble it tomorrow, make sure there is power at the 7 contact plug, and the joystick and it should work. I can't understand two things, why this odd fuse, what is the fused wire connected to, can't really see where it connects, just the wire coming from what I thought was the alternator but now I don't think it is, it is on the left just about a foot from the oil dipstick. I'll check tomorrow with the engine off to see if there is power, I have always been testing with the tractor running so far
