Some time ago I was reading a thread where someone had modified the rear connections on the 3rd scv and mounted them adjacent to the rear remotes and then used loops to connect for usage in the front. I can't seem to find the thread. Could some one point me in the right direction?

Thanks

My dealer ordered a kit for my tractor, so I have not seen it yet. It is an extra set of quick connects that run to the front of the loader. It is operated by the 3rd scv. I saw a picture that looked like it hooks to rear connects and come up to the where the loader connects are. Then you will plug them into the extra lines on the loader. I hope it comes in soon, so I use my grapple again. JC

There is a kit that you can get from JD to do this. IF you do the "build your own" thing on the JD website I think you can get the part #

Let me see if I can explain myself better. I have the 3rd scv kit installed. I also have the hose kit and hard lines on the FEL to run the 3rd scv up front on the loader. When I want to use the 3rd scv up front, I just plug in the hoses to the 3rd SCV outlets that are mounted in the rear, on the right fender. When I want to use the 3rd SCV in the rear, I unplug the hoses that run up front and plug in what ever I am using in the rear. The problem is when you unplug the hoses that run up front, you have to secure them in some way so they don't flop around or get pinched. (Which I have done when loading the backhoe.)

This brings me to the current question. I am installing the diverter and lines for the 4th and 5th remotes at the rear of the tractor. The diverter kit comes with a bracket that goes across the back of the tractor between the fenders. The quick connects for the 4th and 5th scv's mount to the right side of this bracket.

A few months ago I was reading a thread where someone had modified this bracket to accept two more quik connects. They had routed the hoses that go up to the front for the 3rd scv to these quick connects. When they wanted to use the 3rd scv up front, they had two short loops that they would run from the 3rd scv outlets on the right fender over to these new quick connects.

I think I have explained this right. I'm trying to find the thread that described this but I'm not having any luck. They had some good pictures and much better explanations of what they had done.

Thanks, Blades

OK, I understand now...

But I do not recall a thread like that or seeing pictures with short loops of hose from one QC to another. I usually catch all of the hydraulic related threads.

I'm just curious, if you have power beyond, plus 3,4,5th scv's on the rear, will you need to unplug the hoses? How many things do you plan to hook up on the rear? JC

JBA:

I have a 3720 cab with a 3rd SCV, two additional outlets for the electric diverters AND power to the rear. this along with the hoses from the 3rd function on the loader and the hydro lift hoses from the mower make the back look like a spagetti factory but when I disconnect the loader lines they don't flop around so I can't quite picture how your hoses get pinched.

What I usually do by the way is leave the 3rd SCV hooked up to the loader and put anything else in one of the two diverter valves. I plug my mower into one so I use the 'diverted' curl circuit to raise and lower the mower but when I'm using the loader I have the 3rd SCV for the grapple. Works well.

JC,

Thats a valid point and I'm sure I could manage just using the diverter for any rear hydraulics. My preference though with some implements is to use the 3rd scv lever to control only one curcuit in the rear and maintain my FEL curcuits on my joy stick. The main reason for this thread though is to tidy up the rear hydraulic lines. The hoses that run up front and plug into my 3rd scv have straight quick connects and stick out the rear of the tractor before turning 180 degrees and going forward. When they are disconnected they kind of flop around. I really liked what this guy had done in the thread to clean up a somewhat awkward design. I have accidentally cut one of the lines a couple of times and liked how this solved the problem.

Thanks, Blades

How about this: There is room on the left side of the bracket to drill two more holes to accommodate two more quick connect couplers. Extend the two lines that are flopping around with an appropriate length flexible line and connect to the rear of the new quick connects. Then have two new lines made up so you can use them as needed to bridge the 3rd SCV remotes to the newly installed QC-couplers (front). ~Super.

jba, I have the post that you are wanting. Er.......somewhere." If I only had a brain" I'll dig around and see if I can find it. I printed it out for myself for future reference, but misplaced it.

Sincerely, Dirt
