Does anyone know if these machines will be receiving a complete redesign any time soon?

I was looking at one of these on the dealership floor the other day and this design is long in the tooth. Time for a new 4X20 series!

not much of anything. both series share the same cab. The 3000 will be switching to tier 4 next year and will be going before 4000 series. Being since they share the same cab, they wont be redesigning it. It will most likely just get a few cosmetic changes in the hood (maybe). Much like the 2000 series being rebadged. not much change at all except for emissions. Was just talking to salesman on Monday. Before the tier4, he told me the manufacture will be producing as many 3x20's as they can and will stock pile them so they can sell them. not too many requests for the tier 4 machines I was told. They anticipate that they will sell a ton of 3x20's before the changeover

My dealer thought that they would be puting Yanmar engines in the 4x20's, just like the skid steers that use the JD Powertech engines; a TIER 4 thing. Other than that, I don't know. They've been in production for over 10 years, so yeah, they are a little long in the tooth. Theve had a few minor facelifts...more power in 2009, and more hydraulic options in 2011, but I'm not sure what else you could do to them. They certainly don't need any more power, and 12GPM implement hydraulic flow is pretty darn good. I don't think you would want the loader much more powerful due to their size. If they were any bigger, they would be a 5xxx. Maybe a beefier front axle??? Single point disconnect loader hydraulics???

I saw on the John Deere website today that the 2014 line up will change the 3000 and 4000 to the 3000e and 3000r and 4000e and 4000r number system like the current 5000 series is. I would think this would indicate a lot of changes as well but that information was not posted yet.

My guess is that John Deere cannot do a lot with the 4x20 series. It already has tons of power and hydraulic capacity for it's size. It is already a close call in pricing between a 4720 and a 5E tractor. If they were to increase any specs on the 4x20, it might overlap some of the 5E series.

I do think they could at least use an aesthetic upgrade. Change the hood and give the cabs some more room if possible.

One thing they have got to fix - add more AC filters. The single rear design is crap.
