Has anyone here solved the problem of placement of a toolbox on a 3X20 with a cab, loader, and mid-mount mower? On the new cab models there are now studs in the rear cab supports to mount equipment (bolt studs) - had anyone used this to mount a toolbox or have any other ideas where to put a toolbox? I am tired of trying to keep the various tools in the cupholders.....

Thanks,
DW

Do you have a quick hitch on your 3PH?
This is what one TBNer did (see the pic)

Which tools would be in the toolbox? Some idea of size?

I do not use a quick hitch, but that does look like a very good idea. The right side step may be a good idea.....it would mostly be for a hammer, crescent wrench, duct-tape, pliers (the essentials).

I would have room for those tools wrapped in towel, rag, or cloth, and stored by my seat at the floor (Deere 4300). I carry a few things there now, including a water bottle.

Also might consider some plastic tubing to drop the handles into, and line them up like a rack. Would be good to have them inside the cab where they are more likely to stay dry. IMO

Do you have the small storage bin on the left fender, beenthere?
DocD, does your tractor have that bin too?

I do, and I keep a crescent (8 or 10 inch), pliers and a few lynch pins and cotter pins in mine. Not deep enough for a hammer or mallet though (with the other stuff).

Had this question myself. Seeing that picture I think a small one mounted to the back side of the quick hitch next to the top link would be a good spot. I will have to see if I have a small tool box and try it ........... I love this forum!! Thanks Roy

Yes RJ, I do have the fender compartment (bin). But also have room around the seat to store additional items, and thought maybe that would be available on the cab model as well.

Cab models have a small box on the fender, but it is not large enough for what I want to carry. I also am getting sick of tools, pins, and my pry bar rolling around the cab. If I put them next to the seat they ether get in the way of the seat suspension or slide back onto the floor. Mounting a small toolbox outside somewhere would work better for me. Never thought of mounting to the quick hitch, that may be a good local .....
