Hello All,

Was out plowing snow and noticed my 4 way flashers are only 2 way flashers. The left side doesn't flash. But will flash when I use the left side "blinker switch".

Any guesses as to what's wrong? Is the 4 way flasher a different flasher from the blinkers? Is so, anyone got a part number for a replacement flasher?, plus the location of the flasher?

Sounds like a bad **** movie.

Thanks in advance for your help and advice.

The CK 30 & CK 27 are the same only the horsepower is different as far as I know.
It looks to me, there is only one flasher and it does both jobs.

Try some electrical? grease on the bulb holders, could be a moisture problem, was for me anyway.

The same flasher unit supports turn signals and 4-way flash. So the actual flasher is probably OK. Assuming the turn signals on both sides work, check the actual 4-way flasher switch (which is different from the flasher unit). It sounds like one (of two) of the sets of contacts in that switch aren't working. I don't know if that switch is repairable.

My DK50C does the same thing once in a while. If it sits out or you use it in damp weather the contacts in the switch get corroded. Just work the switch "ON & OFF" about 10 times real fast this will clean off the contacts. It always works for me and then the flashers work fine after that. Good luck and Happy Holidays.

Actually, the hazards and the signal lights are separate circuits, but not bulbs. It may be different on your DK. Since the bulbs are good, and the switch flashes on side of things, I would check the wiring going into the flasher unit (the pull knob on the left side of the dash, separate from the combination switch which controls the signals and headlights) It's probably a corrosion problem or loose wiring.

The pull knob is not the flasher, it's just a switch. The flasher is a separate box that feeds both the the turn signals and the 4-way when the respective switches are closed.

You are correct, I was not looking closely enough at the diagram. The flasher unit controls the flashing of the hazard lights, with input from both the combination switch and hazard switch. Check the wires going into and out of the unit, it's under the combination switch. Otherwise it's probably the unit.

Burnt out filament or a bad ground can cause some interesting flash patterns sometimes.
