I was way down in the woods today, pushing mud with my front axle trying to go up a hill,I noticed the 4wd did not appear to be working,I checked the engage lever.tractor 4wd was engaged. I used the bucket and curled the loader so I could raise the front end up and look under the tractor the driveshaft to the front wheels was missing. I thought this is gonna be fun now,so I started walking and I found the driveshaft and the sleeve it slides into and attatches it to the spline shaft coming out of the front end.I tried drivng in 2 wheel drive and could not go up a 5% grade with ag tires loaded and skidder winch on the back and loader on the front. Well I have about 3/4 of a mile to get up out of the hollow and I am getting no where fast. I think if I have too I will turn the tractor around and winch myself out, that would be a lot of winching 3/4 of a mile.I curled the loader and was able to reach under the tractor and get the driveshaft back in place and get the tractor out of the woods climbing 20% grades no problem in 4wd.I get the tractor to the house and upon closer examination I found a pin had come loose in the sleeve that couples the drive shaft to the spline in the front gearbox.I put everything back in place and tacked the sleeve with the mig welder to make sure nothing comes loose again.
