4 wheel drive made a pop sound

I have a ford 1900 4 wheel drive with a loader . I was getting a bucket of dirt with the 4 wheel drive engaged and a pop sound came from the 4 wheel drive and it quit operating. I have'nt dug into it yet, is there a simple fix for something like this?

When you write "it quit operating", I assume you mean the 4WD would not function...is that correct?

Unfortunately, there is no way to diagnose such a problem. You may have broken a gear, but you're not going to know until you start disassembly.
Do you have a service manual for your 1900? If so, I suggest you start reading about your front axle.

Disengage 4 WD and use bucket to raise front end. Shut off motor and turn one of the wheels. Other wheel should turn opposite. If not, maybe broke axle. Hope that you don't hear any strange noises.

On my JD 790 the front driveshaft and u-joints are enclosed so you can't physically see them, I don't know how the Ford 1900 is designed??? Can you see your front driveshaft? If yes, does it turn with the 4x4 engaged? If it doesn't turn, maybe it snapped the driveshaft to the front axle?

Afetr the snap did you hear any clunking or other strange noises when you were moving. On the 1900 you have to drain the hyd oil and drop the lower gearbox for the 4wd to get at the drive shaft.The drive shaft is inside the tube. The drive shaft has splined collars at each end to conect it to the pinion gear and the drive gear at the trans. If you are lucky you broke on of these. I love my 1900 but when you break parts it gets expensive quickly.
