Recently noticed the 400X Loader installed on my 4120 does not sit level - meaning if you are facing the tractor - the corner of one side of the bucket is approximately 1 1/2" lower than the other side - I have had the loader frame on less than 10 hours and have only used it to move fill dirt from one side of our yard to the other - I have not pushed trees run into anything .... the only stress I have had on the loader is putting a heaping load of dirt in one side of the loader that is now sitting lower - needed to do this because of the area i needed to dump the dirt - I cant imagine this would have bent anything - it is almost as if the cylinder on the lower side is not extended the same as the other side. Any suggestions? Adjustments? I have adjusted the quick attach latches (loader seemed loose even though I had it properly adjusted when installed and have only really used the loader for about 3 hrs. heavy use) both are snug and equally spaced from the frame should I adjust one slightly different from the other to compensate?

Thank in advance for your help.

W

It is either mounted wrong or bent. From what you discribe, you should not have bent it. I have the old version 430 loader so I can't be more help.

If it is that new, you may want to pursue warranty work.

Or, you could post some pictures and maybe someone here will be able figurer out the problem.

I know this may sound like a stupid question...but have you checked the air pressure in the front tires?

Thanks for the input. I took the loader off tonight the mounting bracket on the high side is level with the frame of the tractor the mounting bracket on the low side is not - it slopes away from the tractor - out by about 3/16" to 1/4" - although this does not sound like much by the time you compare 1 end of the bucket to the other the difference is well over an inch and quite noticeable since I have it parked in the garage on a level surface. I even turned the tractor around in case the floor was out of level and still get the same results.

Havotech - I have a feeling there is a slight defect in the fabrication of the mount on the low side - with the forks on the loader and having it parked outside - I never really noticed until I had it on a level spot in the garage with the bucket on the front instead of the forks.

Kennyd - I did check the air pressure in the tires - two front the same and 2 back the same. Actually I don't think the front would make any difference since the front axle pivots in the center of the frame of the tractor - the tractor should still sit level therefore the frame mounts should be level and the loader should be level. If the back tires were different by a bit it would throw the frame out of level since the rear axle is fixed.

Looks like it will be a call to the service manager - probably will not want to do anything since I opted to install the loader myself just couldn't see paying $150 to install 4 bolts and connect 4 hydraulic hoses - will see where it goes. If anyone else has a suggestions please pass them along.

Thanks,

W.

May cost more than $150.00 to remedy it. I twisted my loader a couple of years ago. I took it to a automotive collision shop and they put it on a frame straigtener and "adjusted" it. Sits level now.

Was it level after you first installed it? My guess is that you did not really check that but if you did and it was level, then it really does not matter who installed it as the part was defective.

However, I am not really understanding what is causing the bracket to tilt. Is it bent? Again I have the older mounting style 430 loader so I am not very familiar with the x mounting system. If it is bent, I think you will have a hard time convincing the dealer that it came that way.

Keep us posted.
