Well I arrived at this forum about 3 months ago. After reading everything I could get my hands on I decided to return the X585 and move up to the 4010. WOW, thanks guys, this thing is unbelievable. I have the 60 inch finish mower, FEL, i-match, ballast box. I put 4 hours on it saturday, moving wood that I'm clearing. What a time saver. JD stood behind there promise and got me what I wanted. Thought about the 4115, but after reading the posts where guys lost traction before power, I decided to go with the 4010 and love this thing. Anyway, thanks again and have a great summer. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I've had my 4010 for two weeks now and very happy with the decision. I think it is the most tractor for the dollar (my cheap nature is showing through). More power would always be nice. I pushed it to see where its limits are when digging into a sand bank with the FEL last weekend. With about 550# of ballast, FEL about 1/3rd full of wet sand, I had the front wheels buried to the axle, rear wheels dug in the sand to a depth of about 8" and the MMM pushing a bit of a sand mound. Tires wouln't drive forward. Maybe a tractor with more HP would have kept going until the tires spun. Anyway this was really just to see how hard one can push an 18.5 HP tractor and I wasn't disapointed in the result.

I ordered R4's and when my machine arrived, I was disapointed in the width and style of the front tires. The cheveron's don't alternately overlay but are more like flatter versions of Ag tires. I thought this style might be too aggressive, increase ground pressure and turf damage. I've cut the grass twice (faster than I thought possible) and so far it hasn't been a problem.

JTC- It appears that you have what I want my 5 acres to be. Right now I'm clearing an acre of wooded area before having escavator and CAT work done. I yarded out a 80 foot tree last night. Had to put it in 4WD in low to get it out. Also when using the FEL, I found that getting RPM up to 2500 and using low gear with 4WD, uses alot more of it's capability. Also almost tipped this thing over on a hidden stump I didn't see. Oh well it is a learning experience. Have fun with your tractor, I know I have.
