I think I have a major problem that I could use some help with. I was looking for a mid-mount mower deck for my 2003 4010.
Long story - shortened, I found one at a JD dealer online, was told this would fit my 4010, and in fact, came off a 4010. Long drive to pick it up (500 miles each way).
When I got it, and started looking at how this thing attaches, it sure wasn't obvious to me, so I started looking online for info. First thing, this 60" deck is a 7 Iron, which means little to me, but John Deere indicates it is only for 4210-4410. Second thing, all of the parts for attaching (mostly rear lifting) look nothing like anything I can find on the JD website for attaching a deck to a 4010.
I called my local dealer, and he was confused. Further searching, it looks like most of my lifting parts look like what I see for a 4210. Except I have two hydraulic cylinders, so it looks like it used hydraulic lifting.
Is there anyway this deck could be fitted to a 4010 without a major investment? I don't have a rear hydraulic coupler for one thing.
Otherwise I'll need to have a serious discussion with the dealer who sold it to me, which I'll probably do anyway.
Thanks,
Brian
