I know this model gets little fan fare so I thought I would put in my 2cents. I have had my 4010 for 2 months know and love it to death. It has saved many agonizing trips with a wheelbarrow and shovel. I agonized over it's size ( HP) for months wondering if I should be going bigger. This forum was wealth of knowledge! Thanks. I was upgrading from a GT235 which was a fine mower but for the price of it I should have stepped into a cut first and save the $3000 I lost in the trade in. I mow about 2acres and us the fel for wood and "hobby scaping" The only complaint would be the small fuel tank. It has done everything I have asked of it. They are a fine machine and very capable. My dealer was excellent in basically convincing me into the 4010 and not trying to up selling me( had several 4110 on the, lot but no 4010). He ended up finding the machine in Quebec and JD paid to ship it to Ontario. All toll $17,500 with 54" mower,FEL, reaer ballast, R4 tires, taxes, frieght, and pdi. (CDN dollars). I would be the first to admit I like to have more horse power ( and HP sells as my dealer says) but in reality unless you have very specific needs for Bh's or large rear implements the 4010 is the way to go if you can get it at a really good price. Or have alot of cash. Then go for the 4210 or bigger. If your a small country hobby farmer like myself and just need a "toy" don't get caught up in the HP wars and fined a dealer you trust and that will look after you!!

Best of luck!!

Jamie; Good post on your impressions of the 4010. I know I have never suffered from lack of horsepower with my BX 2200, and I suspect the 1800 would have done everything I have ever asked from the tractor.

Yep--I too was somewhat concerned about the HP, but after 92 hours and over a year and a half of use, I continue to be quite impressed.

I've used the 50 inch tiller to break ground and I've always had enough power. While I wouldn't want to run a 5 foot bush hog through 4 foot grass, this machine is very capable. I bought it before the 2210 came out, but for my uses, the more powerful hyd and higher stance make it a better fit for me than the 2210.
