The specs on my 4035 says it has a front end loader lift capacity of 2400 pounds at maximum height. Can anyone tell me if this is the absolute maximum lift capacity. I have a 2800 pound concrete water tank to move, but only need to lift it about a foot of the ground. Will the 4035 handle this, or should I look to a neighbor to borrow something bigger.

Thanks.

Remember that the 2400 is at the pins. If the tank was only a couple of feet in diameter it might do it but if it is 4 foot square you better put the neighbor on standby.

As with any tractor, to do the maximum lift you'll want lots of ballast weight hanging on the three point (lifted only high enough to clear the ground as you move about).

You might do well to drop the SSQA bucket since the loader is rated with weight of the standard bucket in place. The bucket weighs a few hundred pounds, dropping the bucket and chaining to the loader itself might give you what additional capacity is needed.

I honestly think they underrated the lift on the ML120 loader from my experience with my own. Just so long as you have enough weight on the rear to hold the rear down, I think you'll be ok. Worst case it will grunt and say "go call the neighbor", nothing will break unless faulty.

Most things I couldn't lift, I've lifted the rearend trying (which has loaded tires and up to 1500# on the three point).

Also keep in mind maximum lift will be at the rated engine speed for full hydraulic flow, you'll not do the lift at idle...

Lift at ground level [breakout force] is usually around 30% above that available to max height. As mentioned your lift is probably rated at the pins. All considered, I think youll come up a few hundred pounds short of lifting it on, say, forks, but with lift it should slide very easy. If you suspended from a chain further back a little behind the pins yould lose breakout but may be good enuf to lift. Less control tho.

Also you might be able to curl it high enough, I find it is much stronger.
