Hi, I'm fairly new here. This past summer we, that is our ski club, rented a compact TYM tractor with 35hp and got so much work done with it, we decided we needed to look at getting something like that for ourselves. We had a back blade with it and scrapped up gravel to be moved to a bridge site. We also leveled trails, moved trees and made appropriate drainage, etc, etc with it. I'm from agriculture, but these little tractors are a new to me and was surprised of all the work we could do. We are now in the process of purchasing our own, but as you might guess, this will take some time. So we are considering a John Deere 4044r with loader and hydrostatic transmission. With it we'd also purchase a rough cut, 3 point rotary rough cut type mower that's 6ft, a back blade, post hole auger and a 485A backhoe. Of course we know a little tractor can not do a wide variety of jobs like this well, but it will do them well enough for us. I should add that we have a nearby JD dealer which proms us to possibly use.
If anyone has any suggestions or reviews of the 4044r, of course we'd love to hear them. What about some older model by JD?? I'll add a couple photos taken this past summer with the TYM.
Tanks!
