I was wondering if any of you have the JD Q.A. pallet forks for your 410 loaders? I am interested in a set for my 4115 and was just quoted a price of $825. which I did not think sounded too bad. Also looking at a set of Worksaver Q.A. tractor forks but they want more for them that what JD wants.

I have the forks for the Deere 430 FEL, and think the ones you speak of are similar, if not the same. They work great. Having enough weight in the shorts to over-balance the fork load is the limiting factor, short of the lift capacity of the FEL.

I didn't use the set screws to keep the forks positioned on the heavy steel rod, but instead used plastic pipe (2") as 'spacers' to snap on the steel rod. To allow snapping them on and off, I sawed out part of the pipe wall on my table saw, and placed large washers on the steel rod to separate the various lengths of plastic pipe spacers. Much handier to change 'in the field' than loosening and tightening the set screws. Also, keeps the steel rod from getting dimples in it. (Mention just in case you go ahead and get the Deere forks).

I didn't realize there were SO MANY uses for forks, until after I bought them and found out. I modified mine to work on the iMatch so they work on my 3pt. Very handy for palletized firewood.

If I remember correctly, those pallet forks are 4,000 pound limit and weigh a lot themselves. 400 pounds maybe? I want a set for my 410 loader, but I stoped to think when I realized that a set of 1,500 pound limit forks would actually carry more since they would weigh a hundred and fifty pounds less themselves.

I think the list is around $1000 and change. I saw some on Ebay recently, but upon VERY CLOSE inspection, it turned out they weren't Deere (even though they implied -- even said-- they were) , they just looked like Deere. Still, they looked pretty in the picture, but quality is unknown.

What limit and weight were you told for the JD forks?

I do not have the JD ones, but rather made my own. They are quite handy for moving stuff!

I read somewhere that the 410 will lift about 380# with forks. Enough to move small stuff around.

Even though they will fit, the Deere factory forks are too heavy for the 410 loader and will significantly cut into your useful payload. (IMHO) I think they were really designed for the larger loaders / tractors.

On my 410 / 4100 combo, I made a set of forks myself with an old set of 36" tines and a self-made frame. I made the frame as light as possible to preserve payload.

The 36" tines have turned out to be the perfect size for this tractor (for me). They can pick up standard pallets, while not extending so far as to over-balance the tiny 4100.

The rating of 380 lbs is probably accounting for the heavy forks themselvs AND putting the load out a ways from the bucket pivot point. Its also probably to full height, but many times when using the forks you only lift things maybe a foot off the ground to move it around. I know that my 410 loader on my 4100 has lifted 1000 to 1200 lbs of decorative stone evenly spread on a pallet to about 2 foot height.

The rear ballast and front tires are going to be a limiting factor to keep in mind. You will definitely want to pump the front tires up to max pressure and max your rear ballast when using the forks.

I did not ask! When I was talking I asked about the 410 loader and as the salesman was looking he found the forks for the new 200 Series loaders and said that would work with the 410. I will follow up on that next week. the main this I am looking to do with them is move a great deal of brush as we are clearing our property.
