Re: 4100 w/ 410 FEL - how do I \"float\"
As said, full forward on the SCV should put the 410 in "Float". As Ralph says, a foot or so off the ground and a quick full forward push of the lever and you should feel it snap into float as the FEL drops smoothly to the ground. I also use this when parking the 4115. I lift the FEL up a few feet, set the brake, shift to neutral (HST) and turn off the ignition. Then I snap the SCV full forward. This "floats" the FEL down and relieves the hydraulic pressure. Then, pulling back on the SCV and pushing it fwd, back, left, right, relieves most residual pressure.
Any one correct me if I'm wrong but, relieving the pressure this way is a good idea whenever parking (and shutting off) the CUT and should be done whenever you intend to disconnect any of the hydraulic quick connects, such as for removing the FEL. This prevents pressure in the lines from spraying yourself with fluid when you disconnect a line. [NOTE: It is still a good idea to cover any connection with a rag as you disconnect, just in case.]

Ralph...I've never found a need to push to either side, just straight forward, on the 410, on my 4115. May be different on other CUT's...not sure.
Also,

I don't know about the 4100 or 4010, but on the 4115 (as far as I know), there is never any down pressure on the 3ph, other than what force is due to attached implements. IMHO
