Just took delivery of my 4110 with 410 loader and 60" MMM. I notice something strange that the dealer is going to look at tomorrow. Back by the 3PH where the support arms for the 60MMM attach, the connecting pin has lots of play and can actually rub the inside of the tires. After only .8hrs there is a noticeable rub mark on both tires. Anyone else seen this? I can't believe this is normal.

It is not normal. It could be that the assembly is installed improperly or that it is bent. The assembly is a dealer-installed option so he should be able to take care of it, and perhaps have a talk with his technicians. That tractor should have never left the shop if it would have been inspected properly.

This was a problem with the 60" MMM on my 4110 also. Turn the pins so the head is outboard and the retaining clip inboard. Then put some washers between the inboard side of the arm and the inboard fork. This will keep the head of the pin further away from th tire. I know this is a common problem with the turf tires, is it also a problem with others?

I think Deere had some junior engineer design the whole MMM mounting system, it is kinda kludgy.

Thanks for the quick responses. I see how the washer idea would work, but for what I paid I am not sure I am going to accept this solution, at least not quietly. I will post an update after the dealer stops by to have a look.

I can't take credit for the washer idea as that was suggested by my dealer's senior mechanic. He says it is a common problem.

I have about 3/8" clearance on each side with turfs. There is a washer installed in the fashion described by JClark, but I would still insist your dealer complete a proper installation just in case the brackets are bent a little, and in case something happens after the adjustment (who ya' gonna' blame?).

FWIW, I intend to remove my assembly during off-season and when I have heavy work to do in the brush. The assembly just hangs down too far for my comfort and common sense.

Can the rear wheels be flipped to a wider position? With the Loader, you might want that anyway.

Hi Guys,

I have a similar machine (4100) but I dont have any MMM but
I did have a 513 rotary cutting for a small period of time.
I had some clearance issues with the R4's and the 3 Pt arms.
The easiest solution was to switch the rear tires between left and right and reverse them ( valve stem inside). This gave more clearance & wider stance overall - it was noticably more stable. The turfs are bigger than the R4's but I suspect it should help you guys as well? Most likely you already knew about this or have done it?

The offset on my 4110 with turfs is mounted inboard (valve stems inboard). I could see where R1s would fit with the offset outboard but I didn't think R4s would fit that way.

If I understand you correctly - I have the R4's mounted right now with the valves inside ( reversed between left and right) they fit excellent on the same machine as the 4110 but its a 4100....the turfs on these machines are bigger ( wider & taller) than R4's so if you can reverse Turfs, you can reverse R4's no problem...R1 are skinnier than either of these two types.
