4110 battery gave out this week

Should I replace at end of season or......should I wait till spring?

I figure I'll run the tractor about 5 times till I put away for year. A quick jump of the battery gives me enough juice for the day.

I'm thinking of replacing and losing 5 months warrenty. Wondering what you all think?

If it will charge at all, and discharges over time try a cheap trickle charger to keep the battery with enough juice in it to start it until you buy a new battery in the spring.

I've also banged on the bottom of the battery with a rubber or wooden mallet to get some more time out of them. Sometimes this breaks loose the stuff that settles in the bottom and keeps the cells from charging.

I does hold a charge for a day or so. Now all of a sudden it's good for 5 days or more. One posted here about cleaning terminals on battery. I haven't done that yet, but I will soon.

I like that idea of hitting with a hammer. In fact, I have used kicking as a tool to fix things. It doesn't seem to fix things but, I feel better.
