My Mahindra is about 13 years old. I replaced a large gear inside the power take off. The glow plug works intermittently . I had leaky fuel lines twice and had broken fuel filter bowl.
Put inline filter in place of factory set up. Replaced different fuel lines to motor 2 times . Now a smaller fuel line from pump to engine sprung leak. $2 part, down for day.
I think once the first fuel line became leaky I should have replaced all the fuel system lines. Glow plug should be serviced too. Even though I don't need glow plug in summer, I wonder if the extra start time on cool spring or fall mornings may just wear the starter out sooner. Same thing replace weak battery, prevent pain later. Maybe fan belts should be changed out before failing. Blades on cutters should be sharpened. Bad blades, I believe, cause tractor to work harder.
Just wondering if any folks here have some kind of planned maintenance schedule? As for me, I'm a wait to see guy. Change things after they happen. Why change if working? Exception, oil & grease. I remember my Dad, "Check the oil boy. Oil's cheaper than bearings, you know?".
You all have a nice day.......Coffeeman
