John Deere 4110, John Deere 332,
I seem to always learn the hard way! I left my Mower deck on my 4110 and then I have to get it out for the snow removal, I had one heck of a time getting it around in the deep snow. I usually use my 332 with 54" Blade, but it didn't work out this year, it is difficult for me to remove the mower deck as it would be my first time to do so, is it very hard to do?

Bob,
Taking the MMM of my 4110 takes about 5 minutes, very easy to do on a smooth surface, a little harder on gravel os grass. I have never tried to do it in 20" of snow!

My Process...
-Turn Anti-scalp wheels 90 degress
-Lower Mower, Tractor front wheels turned left
-Release front arm assembly and remove from MMM
-Disconnect PTO Drive shaft(pull coolar back to release)
-Pull the 2 pins at the rear of the deck
-Start engine,raise 3PH arms
-Slide MMM out from under the tractor

Hope this helps, The manual for the MMM describes this very well with pictures.

It's supposed to warm up in the next few days and I will get my Son to remove the mower deck.
Thanks!!

On a smooth surface, you can skip the step of turning of the anti-scalp wheels 90 degrees if you are in a hurry - they will generally skid/slide easily enough to just muscle the deck out from under the tractor.

The other hard part is finding a place to store it!

Which MMM do you have?? I have the 54" with the mulching kit which makes turning the gauge wheels 90 degrees useless. The 90 degree position is so low the mulcher baffles scrape the ground.

Just curious which set-up you're running.

Oh yeah, don't forget to put the Woodruff key somewhere secure!! I usually remove the driveshaft too, clean and grease it, and put it on a shelf till spring.

I have the 60" mower deck with a useless latch kit! I guess its to be used in the Summer when you want to use your 3ph, I have been taught a lesson. the latch kit is no value in snow

I have the latch kit for my 54" MMM which works fine. My only real complaint is that I had to give JD seventy more dollars for this kit after I dropped close to $2000.00 on the MMM!

What problems are you experiencing?

Guys,

I feel like a fool on this one. I have a good number of attachments and can actually get the tiller on quicker that putting on or taking off my 60" MMM. I find I either have to jack the front end up or use my loader to get the thing to fit. Turning the wheel 90 degress I still drag the front of the mower on the front tires. I have to be missing a trick.
