Does anyone have any experience with a 46 backhoe on a 4110 tractor? Before I take the plunge, (man a backhoe is a ton of money) I want to know if I need to on the lookout for anything.
As usual thanks for all the help and tips.

I have the 46BH on a 4115 and have not had any problems. Currently using mine for digging up stumps on the property we are clearing. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I have had the 46 on the 4110 for two years. Pulled a bunch of stumps, transplanted a few bushes, even used it to do the equivalent of plowing a 10X20 foot area by just digging all over to a two foot depth to break up some very hard ground. Couldn't really get in there with the FEL effectively.

I've found it useful and never had a problem. Seems perfectly sized to the machine.

Thanks for the feed back, do you have a MMM? I know you can't use both at the same time and I was wondering how easy it is to take off the backhoe?

No, I don't have a MMM. I don't mow with my 4110. I do take of the BH regularly since 3pt items require the backhoe be removed.

The backhoe is easy to get off, only a few minutes effort.

Getting it back on is hard the first time but gets easier with a bit of practice. In general about 10 minutes more or less. You need to use the stabilizers to lift the backhoe height and level it so the hooks line up with the 3pt bars. Then you lower the hoe itself until the front of the subframe raises up (pivoting on the hooks) so you can get the pins in which lock in the ears on the front of the backhoe subframe.

Not too bad really.

I have the 4110 w/the 46 BH also...it's a nice set-up. I wouldn't want to excavate a foundation with it but for trenching, stump pulling and other general digging tasks it's quite capable.

I have the MMM. Although the BH comes off and on quite easily if you have the mower on the machine you need to drop that, drop the mower support frame (which means removing and re-installing some of the 3pt hitch mechanics)...and then do it in reverse when you're done with BH and want to put your mower back on. Adds about 1/2 hour (for me) on each end. A bit of a pain if you just have a small BH job you want to get done. So I make a list of BH projects and save them up for a couple of weeks to make it worth the switch-over.
