I bought the 4110 in Dec '04, it came with the FEL and BH installed. The 60" MMM and 'parts' were delivered but not installed until this week. Dealer comes to the house and after fooling with it for an hour realizes he has a smattering of parts for the 4010 and 4110 (yes, they're similar looking mounting schemes but use slightly different brackets). Goes back to the shop gets the correct brackets, back to my place & installs them. The MMM doesn't fit. It's a 60" deck for a 4010 - yes, the decks are similar for both machines but slightly different. We load the 4010 deck in his truck, back to the shop and then back to my place with the 4110 deck. Presto, everything works. We get the MMM trimmed and leveled, cuts like a champ. Dealer leaves. I cut the lawn and then drop the mower, leave the all the mounting brackets attached (as I'm told they should/could be) to the tractor and install the tiller - everything looks fine. I drop the tiller to the lowest setting and the mower 'draft arms' and the turnbuckles drag on the ground. This can't be right. I had to till 2 gardens tonight so I simply bungy-corded the draft arms to the frame in a lifted position - this definitely ain't right. The manual is extremely thin - no info on what to do in this situation. Obviously, the install is not quite right or there's an adjustment I'm not seeing. Any thoughts?

Thanks, -Norm

Here's a link to a thread that contains a picture of what you'll need.

4100 Lift Latch Kit

I think this one addresses a 4100, but you have the same issue. Good luck.

I thought I would post the situation I had with my 4210 that was delivered with the 7-Iron MMM installed....the maximum height it would cut the grass was only 2 1/2 inches as the rear of the deck was two inches higher than the front. I contacted my salesguy and he told me I should be able to raise the front of the deck so the minimum cut was 3 1/2 to 4 inches.

There wasn't any more adjustment possible so I took the front draft pivot assembly off the mower and checked it over. What happened was the dimwit who originally installed the mower at the dealership had assembled it so that the lever was on the WRONG SIDE (the left side while seated) of the tractor and the assembly would bind before lifting the front of the deck to the proper height...so he extended the clevises that attach to the j-pins on the front of the deck to make it fit.

Thanks to the detailed instructions Deere provides with their mower, I was able to determine what the problem was and now my deck is 1 1/2 inches higher in the front. And yes, I let the dealership know about their mistake.
