I have had my 4120 for a couple of weeks. I love it. I have been using it for excavating and although it does not take a big bite, I am still able to work pretty fast.

The hydrostatic pedals are set up so that the outside one is reverse and that is opposite of what I am used to. Has anyone switched the pedals? I know that the switch is electric and that the upper pedals come off. It looks like it might be fairly simple.

I bet you can just switch the wires. Would I? - NO.

Why would you want to?

You mostly push the forward pedal which is comfortably located most inboard, right where most people's right leg would naturally fit.

Kyle, I am used to a loader with the pedals reversed. It is taking quite a bit of thought each time to move the pedal opposite of what I am used to doing.

It was an old MF bucket loader. I spent my summers growing up running it. Maybe a 3-4 yd bucket. It was hydrostatic (one of the reasons I got my 4120 with eHydro) and was a great loader. Just had the outside pedal forward and inside reversed.

Well I guess since your Nickname is "rebel" you can do what you want. I'd give it a bit of time to learn it. If anyone at the service department got on it and proceeded to back into a brand new tractor or building....well....I'd just recommend trying to relearn it. I find myself reaching for the power reverser lever on my 4310 with HST after driving the 5420 for a while.

If it really bothers you or you just can't seem to learn it, I'd recommend that if you ever go to an island nation where they drive on the wrong side of the road, HIRE A CAB. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Another thing to consider: If you ever (probably not, but hey) use some one else's JD, you would have to break old habits again. I would say that IF it is pretty much an industry standard to have the pedals how they are, (provided you dont run that other loader anymore), then I would leave them for the sake of your sanity on future eHydro's and for anyone else who operates yours.
