Tim,
Thanx...your description was really better than measurments. I just need to know there will be enough movement to facilitate easy hook up. I just dont want to spend $250 for no purpose. As for having a spare set of nontelescoping arms...Im not sure I really want or need them. Ive been doing the lever bar thing at times w/ my current tractor and Id like to be done w/ it. Right now its only an issue w/ my snowblower (once its on it stays on all winter) and my tiller...which goes on and off a few times during spring and summer). Since theyre small I can usually manage them myself w/ a bit of work. However, tele arms are more appreciated w/bigger heavier implements that don't roll.

My dealer seemed to think the tele arms that could be ordered were 'useless' . He also couldnt figure out why JD didnt put tele arms on this series as std equipment. He said he'd order them if I REALLY wanted them. The implication being Id be wasting my money.

Yes, I think it was a cat 2 hitch he used as an example. However, the thing came WAY out and really had considerable movement once extended. While I wouldnt expect that much in a cat 1 arm it should at least be proportional...which I think was his point -- it wasnt. I think the salesman felt that adequate for all practical purposes was inadequate. In his mind it should work well...after all why bother to design and build a piece of medicore equipment.

I know that the NH tele arms on their large chassis machines extend quite far...maybe 3 or 4" and has plenty of movement. Theyre also std equipment.

Good point about imatch....hadnt thought about that as it was off my radar completely. Given Tim's response I think Ill just go for the tele arms. I cant see a need for imatch really. If was chaning implements very often then it might make more sense.

I'd take delivery, then get the telescopic arms later, if they are charging the 250... You CAN break an arm, might as well get the spare unit... They are easy to swap and don't take much room. (backhoe owneres get to take them on and off frequently...)

jimg - when do you have to order? I won't be down to the farm until this weekend - but I could take a couple of quick pics while I'm there trying to show the arm end movement and post them when I get back. From the sounds of the 6000 series arms these aren't in that category but I'll just say given 1100 lbs of MX6 I'm glad I've got 'em!

Hi Tim,
I wont be ordering until late spring or summer so I still have some time. Thanx for the offer of making pics but between your earlier description and stmt that you have no problem hooking up your MX6 Im all set. Thanx again jimg

I don't have 'em yet. But I will. Hooking up the MX6 without 'em is nigh unto impossible!

Didn't get a chance to take any pictures but I did check out the draft arm movement. The extendable ends move out a good 3 inches - more than I remembered, but the up/down movement is only about 3/4". However, remember that you can easily pick up a draft arm to reach the pin - it's the back/forth movement that gets you. I think they're worth it - but I do think JD should have made these standard by now. I doubt whether anyone would even notice the price difference over the current stock units once these became the standard oem part.

Hi Tim,
Thanx for the info. This past w/e I measured the tele arms on the NH 45 and they appear to be comparable to the Deere in every way exc theyre std equipment. According to the Deere dealer they arent std and wont be to his knowledge. While trying out the 45 I did hitch up a 72" brush mower just to see how it might work and cant imagine why you wouldnt want tele arms. jimg
