Turns over with starter...will not fire... Spray ether starts then stops...
Could it be the Fuel Solenoid ? Switches, ignition key, seat, HST Neutral ?

Welcome to TBN
Seems consensus of TBN has been that ether should not be used.
Sounds fuel related.
Can you give us some history of the 4200?
Status of fuel filter? Run out of fuel? Age of fuel in tank? water in fuel bowl? .. etc., etc., etc. So many things...

X2 what beenthere stated about starting fluid. I only utilize starting fluid as a last resort for starting engine.
How long since fuel filter was changed? Do you have good fuel flow from tank to inj pump?? I've seen fuel passageways clogged in water separator housing. Is fuel tank venting??
If the solenoid does not clack when the key is turned you have found the problem.
It may involve the solenoid or a thermistor behind the fuse box.
On mine the solenoid gets filled with fluid And then will not work. Apply heat (heat gun) to the solenoid while pumping the priming pump and/or tapping on the solenoid usually works.
I do have a new solenoid in the tool chest with a thermistor. Haven’t found the location of the thermistor on the tractor though.
