I'm trying to get at the forward/back pedals under the floor of my 4210 tractor. There's a plastic cover over them, I've tried pulling on it a bit, but I'm afraid I'll break it getting it off. Can anyone give me some advice about how to do this?

Also, can anyone help me with the wiring diagram/schematic for the pedals? Thanks!

Are you talking about the footdeck (floormat)? Trying to think of what a plastic cover over the forward reverse pedals might be.
There are plastic rivets that hold the floormat down. Remove them and the mat should come up (maybe with the fuse panel door off).

What problem are you chasing down?

I think he is talking about the plastic covers under the deck. They are held on with plastic rivets also. You have to pop them out to remove the cover. If careful you might be able to reuse them. If not the dealer should have them pretty cheap ( by JD standards anyway).
Can't help with the wiring sorry.

Thank you for your suggestions, I got the cover off without breaking it. Seems cheesy to use these plastic "christmas trees" to hold a tractor together, but at least they don't rust.

What problems are you having with the pedals if you don't mind me asking?

No problem with them at the moment, just some crap stuck up in the area. These tractors aren't all that well protected from below.

You are right, they are very vulnerable to brush and things poking up from underneath. I hold my breath most every time I work in the woods with the 4300. Even if you get the under armor, there still are places that a stick can slide up and in there to cause some grief.

Your comment about plastic came to mind when I used my 4300 which has steel decking under the floor mat. But after 17 years, there are some rusty spots working under the paint on that decking even tho this tractor has always been shedded. No rust on the plastic fenders or other panels. And the couple times that heavy limbs have landed on the hood, I am thankful that I don't have a dent like if they'd been steel.
