4225Ch vs 4720Ch

I am familiar with the technical differences between the two tractors.

What kind of value would you place on the upgrades the 4225Ch has vs losing 5 hp?

I am down to picking one of these two. The price of the 4225Ch is $400 less than the 4720Ch.

This is like picking Chocolate or Vanilla ice cream. I really can't go wrong either way.

Have you driven and operated each one?

Does the 20 series have A/C as well as heat in the cab?

Do they both have rear remotes installed?

What kind of pto driven tools are you going to operate, that the 5hp may become a factor?

When I was looking, the 20 series cab sitting at my dealer didn't have air conditioning. It had heat, sure, but no A/C. And dealer said it wasn't something that could be added later, if I decided I'd made a mistake by not having it. Once that detail was out, I stopped looking at the 20 series entirely. Don't know if A/C is an option on the cabbed 20 series or not (the only one I looked at didn't have it), but I personally wouldn't buy a cabbed tractor without it.

It depends on how much you need the power. I find that 37hp is plenty for everything I do except chipping larger material. It's not like a car where more power makes it more fun.

The factory remote kit that comes on the 25 will fit on the 20 series. When I was buying my 3725 it was very reasonably priced. I use mine to operate top and tilt cylinders which I find very useful. According to my dealer the 25 series DPF has more catalyst but that's hard to tell from operating it.

I have driven the 4720Ch. I have never even seen a 4225Ch. If I went with the 4225, I probably would not get to look at it until it was delivered.

Both would have AC/Heat and rear remotes. I will be using a flail mower and post hole digger.

The price difference is inconsequential to me.

I could be wrong on this but I thought there was speculation about the possibility that the 20 series was going to be discontinued. I would ask the dealer to see if he can shed any light on this. If indeed the 25 series is newer and will replace the 20 series you would probably want to take that into account.

The 20 series is not built anymore. In fact, they've just updated some bits on the 25 series, like couple chrome accents in the front grill, new front diff vent.

In Europe, the 20 series are no longer sold for at least 1 or 2 years.

The main difference in regards to the HP ratings is that the 4225 has the A2000 2.0L engine and the 4720 has the A2300 2.3L engine. I find that the 2.0L even in my 37 hp rated engine chugs the fuel and is thirsty enough that I'm not upset about missing out on the larger displacement engine. Unless the turbo'd version A2300T has better fuel economy.

Basically, it came down to 5hp vs. armrests and Dual Adjustable 3pt Hitch Leveling Links. I chose the HP.
