Hi

Well grass cutting season has just started and so far I am very impressed with the 425AWS and 60 inch deck that I bought back in March. The quality of cut with the 425's 60 inch deck is very impressive and the deck really spreads the grass incredibly. It does a better job of spreading the grass then my Agco Allis 1920H( Simplicity Sunstar) with 48 inch deck. I am very happy that I went with the 60 inch deck over the 54 inch deck. The 425 really handles the 60 inch deck well( IMHO) and with the All Wheel Steering you can manuver very well into tight spots. There are places that I can take the 425AWS with 60 inch deck, that I had a hard time with the 1920H 2WS and 48 inch deck. Truely impressed. As for heavy grass, the 425 handles her quiet well and so far the engine has not stalled or ran out of power. I was cutting heavy grass while climbing a farily steep hill while traveling at a decent speed and that thing kept going with out a problem. The only regret I have is not buying the 425 sooner. Very impressed with it so far. I put about 20 hours on her so far since I bought her, but with the recent rain, I will be putting more hours on her. Take Care Jason B

So Jason, how has that 425 been this past year?
I bought one used with 400 hours on it, I now have over 1100!
It's been a great machine with only a few problems:
-Had to replace the front cover gasket due to a coolant leak.
-Replaced a solenoid to cure a cutting-out problem.
-Lately I've had some problems with it flooding after shutdown, and rough running when hot. The carb float was set to spec, but I lowered it some more. It was running better the last time I used it.

How's your fuel usage? I'm somewhere a gallon an hour before the carb fix.

I actually look foreward to cutting the grass.....except for the $25 fill-ups!

I just picked up a used 2004 GX255 for back-up mowing and other chores while the 4310 is in the shop. i went through an acre plus of grass up to 2 feet in length and it actually cut it and did nott mess up the belts at all. Surprised mee quite a bit as the dealer swore it would probably give me some trouble. But it did not and this includes slopes on my property. Once my big unit retunrs, this one will be relegated to special work like sloopes too scary for the 3520:eek:. and intra-neighborhood personnel delivery and transport.
