Hi guys I have a 2000 425 with 465 hours. It has a 1 month old cozy cab, 47 2 stage blower, 54 inch deck, chains, 300lb suitcase weights. I'm probably going to trade it on a 2210 soon. Do you know of any resources that would help me guess at what this set up is worth? I just want to make sure I get a fair deal. Pic attached

You can always take a look at Ebay and see what those tractors are bringing,, there are a few 425 for sale now.

The $$ for the cab going to be hard to recoup, it is a great cab, but very expensive.

My guess, tractor, mower, blower, cab,, $7000, maybe more depening on your area.

What do you hope to gain with the 2210 over the 425?

More power, with all the weight the 425 seems to be having a harder time blowing snow this year. I was going to upgrade earlier in the year and then I decided to get the cab instead. I like the cab but I should have gone with my gut and got the 2210 then. Now I have a real expensive cab on an older tractor. I called my dealer and he is checking out what he can do on a trade. In april he had me at about $4400 difference with my 425 on trade. Now with the cab added I would hope that would drop to $3000. If I get that deal I will take it right away. I really don't know how he came up with that price, it seems like too good to be true.

rlcowder,

I can hear your pain. Although I didn't have a cab on my 425 when I traded it on the 2210, I haven't looked back since. This morning we were #$%^&* blessed *&^%$#@! with a few inches of powder. Now mind you, after the first three snowstorms of this year, powder had to be a dream and was... It took less than 15 minutes for the 2210 to clear off 10,500 s.f. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'll admit the 425 would have done a nice job, but there is no comparison to the extra power and 4WD the 2210 has. BTW, though rated at 3 more hp, the 2210 has tons of more useable power and torque when compared to the 425.

That's good to hear. I have a little less driveway about 9500sqft but I really enjoy blowing it on the neighbors.

You certainly are moving up in torque and traction. I have had nothing but rave reviews from customers that have them, and some of they are doing some fairly hefty tasks with them.

That price does sound great! Let us know where they come in at now.. I'm sure you are pricing with the 47" snowblower and a mid mower.

You may want to consider keeping the 47" blower as that should also fit the 2210. Otherwise, ask your dealer to show you the Blue Book, just like car dealers the tractor dealers also have a book that they use for reference.

Good Luck!

rlcowder,

JD455 is right, the blowers for the 4xx/2210 are the same, but the driveshaft is a different design (JD has a kit to change this over). The hitch for the 4xx isn't compatible, also there is an intermediate hitch that is required and a new main driveshaft, otherwise the blower will work just fine. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Thanks Guys, I had looked at trading earlier in the year and my blower will fit on the new 2210. After thinking about it I decided to get all new components with the 2210, so my 425 will be gone tomorrow. They gave me a decent amount for my trade $10,200 on the 2210. 2210 with the 62mmm and the 47 blower , tires filled comes to $16300 on the deere website and they priced it a $15000 for me. $4800 difference on the trade, I'm happy, I didn't think I would get that much. On Ebay I'm seeing the 425s,445s,455s going to $3500 so I don't know how they're doing it but I'm taking the deal. I will get you guys some pictures tomorrow afternoon. Do any of you have any power issues with the 2210. I mean does it have enough?

rlcowder,

You can't even compare the power of the 2210 to the 425. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Everything I've done with it: loader work, mowing, blowing, and grading with the York rake it has done with no problem. The only time I've even had to use the low range is on really heavy loader work, but I'll bet even the bigger Deere owners use low range for that too.

It doesn't look like you're getting the loader with it; you might want to think twice, as it will cost you quite a bit more if you decide to add it later.

Post some pics when you get it!
