430 Loader Minor problem

I am looking for some input on a potential problem I had w/ my loader this weekend. I was moving dirt and found that when I would go to dump the bucket it would stop about 3/4 of the way down. This was on the curl function not the up and down. After about 3 seconds, it would "uncurl" the remainder of the way. Between loads I would try to repeat this and it would curl and uncurl without interuption. It seems to me that if there is weight in the bucket it will give me this hesitation but empty it functions normally. I have 33 hrs. on the tractor with only a few hrs. with actual bucket work. Is this the start of a bigger problem or is this normal and I just never noticed it before? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

What position is the control lever under the dscv in? It should be in the top. Have you tried the fast dump (full hard to the right...)? Cycle the loader through all motions to release trapped air in lines. Disconnect the quick couplers on the hydraulics, tap the end on a rag covered hard surface, to make sure they are opening. Reconnect them and try. Also make sure that the return lines aren't swapped.

If you do a search for "regen" or regeneration you will find that there is a position on your loader control valve lockout lever that will enable or disable "regen". Also, I believe your manual will tell you which position is which on that lever.
Basically, as Mike says, you want to use the "regen" position to eliminate the oil from having to cycle thru the valve on the dump cycle with a heavy load. In "regen" the oil cycles from the lines from the rod end of the cylinder to the head end more freely and can help eliminate that delay you are experiencing.

Thanks for the information. I have not had a chance to research it yet. The kids keep me running when I get home from the office. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif I'm sure many can relate. I'll post something soon. I have not seen anything in my loader owner's manual about a "regen" position. Do I need the technical manual to find this info. out? I am new to the tractor repair/maintenance field so any guidance as to where I can find this info. out is appreciated.

Rege is in the regular owners manual, its the top position in the selector under the joystick.

My tractor came from the dealer with some lines switched. I didn't realize it until they replaced the two leaking bucket cylinders. Before it was fixed, pushing the stick right would make it curl, but all the way right would make the bucket dump (hit the regen I guess). I thought I was just a stupid novice operator until I picked it up after the cylinder replacement. Now, all is good, and I am becoming a loader pro
