I need to rant a little here. My 4300 (2wd) has lost another front inner wheel bearing. Different side than last time, but the same bearing. As aggravating as this is, bearings do go bad. The problem comes in at the part dept. My wife was mowing, calls me says the front wheel is locked up. I've seen this before, no big deal, I call the dealer (Ag-power in Terrell, TX). I tell them I need the inner and the outer bearing. The parts guy says yeah no problem, we got 'em. I send the wife to get them. I get home, pull the tractor onto the driveway behind my truck and take the hub all apart. Then I look at the new bearing. Yup, two outer bearings. Crap. Now I'm really stuck. The tractor is up on the loader with only one front wheel. I can't get my truck out. I can't put the old bearing back in (it was in little pieces). All because the parts guy can't do what I asked and give me the inner and outer bearings. So then I have to drag the tractor on the loader down the driveway to get room to get my truck out, and the wife is jumping up and down about the scratches on the concrete. And meanwhile the pasture gets taller.
Sorry to carry on, but I needed to vent.
