4300 on the way

I have been reading the posts on this site for sometime and want let everyone know what a help they have been in the selection of a tractor. Just signed the papers for a 4300 with hydro, fel, and all the trimings. I am from upstate New York and the used Deeres here hold their value so well that it was better to spend a little more money and get the chance to put the first scratch on it myself.

I started out with very little knowledge about tractors but needed one to handle the work around the twenty-three acres of our new home site. You all have helped me so much with the information that you made my decision much easier.

Congrats on the "can do anything" JD4300.

What part of Upstate NY are you from, and what is the dealer's name?

Congratulations on your JD 4300. I have had mine for 14 months and it has done more than I could of ask with NO problems. Make sure you read your owner's manual very, very good and follow the instructions as stated. It is one of the best investments I have ever made. Again congrats and have fun!!!!!!

Very good advice, I spent the night after delivery learning all about my new machine. I have moved dirt with the fel and leveled the piles out, cut eight acres of knee high grass and transported heavy logs from the woods. The salesman was oh so right and I am so glad that I put in the extra money for the HST. Never thought I would own an auto tractor. It is the perfect tractor for my needs.

Sorry I took so long to reply. I had trouble posting. I live in Geneseo, about twenty-five miles South of Rochester. I bought my 4300 from Lakeland Equipment in Avon. They are about ten miles from my home. I talked with all the dealers around and found them the most patient answering my questions and fair with the price. There were others who quoted a lower price but not enough to make a difference.

I have put twenty hours on the 4300 and I cannot tell you how happy I am. It does everything I ask with ease. I cut six acres of tall grass and weeds and it just walks through the brush too. The fel has been great for moving piles of dirt left from the dozing of the driveway. I have not used the back blade yet but hope to play with it next week.

The info on the HST was right on the money. I have varing grades and the fexibility of the ground speed is very welcome. I was cutting the field and got called away. My wife finished it and annouced I was going to have to share more. You will love your tractor.

That sounds like a really nice tractor. I think you cannot go wrong with any of the Deere 4000 or 5000 series utility tractors. I had seriously considered the 4700 for myself, but I intend to cut some hay, and the 5000's were a little better suited to my needs. (I ended up with a 5520, and I could not be happier).
