4300 vertical exhaust hood cut out template?

I had a lower exhaust on my 4410 for years. I set up a 59 snowblower for the front end. You couldn't get away from the exhaust smell. So I went with a vertical exhaust and I won't go back. Now it's very seldom that I have to put up with the exhaust smell.

And yes you do have to watch the exhaust pipe in the bush. It's a small price to pay!

Exact same experience with my 3720 cab tractor. Besides the 59 Blower, I had exhaust in cab when using the 60 Brush.

Just curious why you are doing this? I like the lower exhaust on the newer tractors. I have some old ford's with the vertical, and they seem to get banged up in the woods clearing brush.

I see you are in Hancock, so I suspect it's the 12" of snow you get everyday!!! I've been up there several times over the last year or so for work, very nice area.

Yea pretty much. With either the snowbox on the loader, or the 59 blower on the front, you're basically driving in a trench you create when you move the snow. The engine is working near full load most of the time so lots of exhaust flow especially when driving forward at any kind of speed. It's really bad with the blower because the exhaust has no where to go but under the tractor and up into the cab.
I've moved snow 4 times now since I got the stack on and WOW what a difference. No more headaches, no more smelling exhaust the whole time, no more keeping the right windows open, and no more diesel exhaust soaked clothes. Wish I'd done it the day I got the tractor home. I'm also glad I went ahead and bought the deere pipe and bracket. Spendy for what it is, but installation was quick, easy, and looks factory.

This. That was from last year opening up the neighbors driveway after a particularly strong storm.

I also upgraded to the top pipe and used the JD attachment. If anybody needs my old pipe, it's yours for cheap.

I hogged out the opening in the hood using a dremel, all by freehand, lifting the hood up and down to check for clearance.

It was all done for the same reasons. I got tired of constantly breathing diesel exhaust. Now its very rare to ever get a whiff of it. I'm not concerned about limbs and obstacles hitting the pipe, after all, it's right there in front of me where I can see if something's going to hit it.
