4310 50hr Service

Depends on which model tractor. Some may not require a 50 hour service. As far as CUTS; I doubt it though.

I ordered stuff for my 50 hr service. I talked to my dealer about the discussions here. At first, he said not to change the fluid, but then said that the service manual calls for it - I'd better do it. They don't call for it on the larger machines, but do on the CUTs. So I should. He also said to use Low Viscosity HyGard. He also knew I would buy my fluids from another dealer, so he wasn't just trying to sell me something.

It is probably overkill, but I don't want to screw up a $23K machine to save a few bucks...

My overall guideline is: Do what the guy who is responsible for the warranty calls for. Hard to go wrong that way...

I've noticed a few mentions on the forum of using the Low Viscosity HyGard and getting faster loader cycle times, having it dealer recommended, etc. I'm going from memory so forgive me if I'm way off base, but the chart in my owners manual seemed to indicate the low viscosity HyGard was for low temperature applications with the acceptable upper temperature limit being around 80 degrees...which I won't regularly be below until October or November in this part of the Midwest.
I've been watching this thread with interest as I'm approaching my 50 hours and I'm curious if anyone has used the low viscosity Hygard last Summer and then through the Winter in their 4310 without incident? Maybe the fluid ratings/charts aren't meant to be such a hard guideline but I'm hesitant to use the low viscosity when it's going to be 100 degrees plus here come August. Thoughts?
