4310 eHydro Cruise deactivates on it\'s own

Anyone had this problem? I'll turn on my cruise while mowing and 8 out of 10 times it will shutoff on it's own - like I pressed the brake or flipped the switch. Most of my use is without the cruise but I have one field that I use it on when it gets mowed. I started timing it and most of the time it will run about 12 - 20 minutes before it will just turn off. I am not bouncing around in the seat or riding with my foot on the brake pedal. First few times it happened I about went over the hood.. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif...That'll wake you up in a hurry... I can use resume and get back up to speed so cruise is still on. Also, anyone have a leaking fuel sending unit in the side of fuel tank. Mine stays damp around the plate when the tank is full. I've tried tightening the screws a little.

TL: I have a 4300 Hydro and the cruise would not stay on. My tractor has a magnet under the floor board where the foot pedal is located. When I turn on the Cruise the magnet grabs the pedal and holds it in place. THE CURE FOR MY PROBLEM: Remove the forward pedal and grind it to a flat surface so the magnet will get a better grip. Do not know if this will help but that is how my cruise problem was resolved. Good luck.

No magnet on the 10 series, all computer control. But still a weak switch or pinched wire could be the cause.

I would look under the floor at where the hydro pedals connect to the pots. There is a plastic cup like cover (#23 in drawing) over the area. Sticks and stones get in there and cause chaos...

I took the cover off (had a heck of a time getting the little snaps loose that hold the cover on) that was indicated in the last post and every thing looks good. Just a little dust in the cover. All the connections were tight and the wires looked good. Is there an adjustment for the switch on the brake pedal? Maybe the switch is adjusted to close to cutoff? I can here the switch click when pressing the pedal by hand but can't see it. It doesn't take much pressure on the pedal for the switch to click. Tractor is still under warranty for another 1 1/2 years but I hate to load it up and take it in when I can fix it myself with just an adjustment.

There is a problem with early controlers just ask your dealer and they should be able to reprogram controler for you.
This should be covered under a JD Product Improvement Program "PIP" for you. This should solve the problem for you.

Great.... This gives me what I need to know when talking to the dealer. I will give him a call and schedule a trip in. Thanks for the help. I'll let everyone know the results.
