has any one taken the plastic cover off the pedal sensors under the floor pan on the right side?

i have stiff joints and would like to know what has to be done before i crawl under the tractor so i can be prepared

Hey chickenman, you will need a pair of dikes (side cutting pliers) the cover is held on with 3 push pins just like the ones that hold the floormat down. If you are very carefull you mite be able to reuse them . make sure the pedals are returning firmly to the stop at the top of travel. any small debris stuck in between will cause the tractor not to drive. Dont adj the potentometers unless you are sure they are off.

right now it doesn't move so i'm gathering info for what may have to be done

right now I'm all kinds of ticked because the manual I bought doesn't cover my tractor and jd seems reluctant to replace it with the correct manual i can use

A few years ago I had only reverse direction because I had pulled some wires off going through heavy brush. I used a heavy bladed paint scraper to cut through the push pins ( you can buy new ones at most auto parts stores ) and remove the cover. The problem was pretty obvious after I got a look at it and easy to fix. While I was under there I tucked the wires on that side up a little better and used tie wraps to keep them there. Hope this helps, JP.

I've had mine off a couple of times also. Pretty easy. I'll bet you have pulled the wire loose under there. At first I only had reverse. When I stopped, I had nothing. I had to turn off the 4310 and restart then I only had reverse until I stopped again, then nothing. Recrimped the wire and off I went.

Good luck.

it started with the cruise control not working, I looked the wiring up in my shop manual but my tractor had wiring changes not in the manual

i drove it up to my barn shop to work on it, the deere service manager suggested I do an auto calibration, so I tried that but the throttle was out of spec

I got the throttle in spec not but the brakes locked up when I stopped the tractor at my shop so i can't calibrate the valves until I get them unlocked

normally I would rock it back and forth to unlock the brakes when it happened in the past so was no big thing until now

I may have to get help pushing it to unlock the brakes

there are some things on this tractor that could have used more engineering talent in the design

You may of seen in some other posts that brakes on the ehydos do not get much use. Hope you can shake them loose

You did not get a trouble code?!? Seems like this baby has been a PITA! If your manual dosent show a light look at the "control pod" on the right fender well. Do you have a trouble light? There should be an amber 1/2"x1/2"ish light - it flashes trouble codes.

Sometimes my MFWD speed sensor trouble code would not come on but my cruise would not work - other times it would - 70 bucks and two screws later - cruise again:)

Try this - when you get going again. Watch the light when you try to engage cruise - it may flash the code a few times and quit.

The only thing that should prevent cruise from working and not flash a code are the brake sensors IMHO. Out of cal will not cause it not to work!

I'm an Electrical Engineer and looking at the cal routine for my 4610 I would not even attempt it without a test lead harness - bunch of wires to connect to the "test points" on your tractor. Heck even with one I'd still be hoping I could find someone else to at least help.
Good luck!

i'm down to the reverse solenoid out of calibration so i have to crawl under to check connections

this has been a learning experience which would be easier if I had a manual that reflected what was on my tractor and not for earlier serial numbers
