You've got in backwards. A clutch will slip much easier in high gear than low gear.................

You're right, but that slippage won't stall the tractor (like it would in a lower gear).

When clutches were more common in street vehicles, if a guy had a clutch going south, he could slip enough in a higher gear to get the car or truck moving (to get it home or a repair shop). That's what I meant, but it wasn't well expressed in the earlier post. My apologies...
The intent is to see if jkwbako's tractor will move in gear. I'm hoping this works for him as part of the troubleshooting.
I think his 4310 is going to end up at a dealer for repair, however.

I had a similar issue with mine. It would suddenly lose power and stop and when I moved the reverser from forward to reverse, nothing.
I noticed that by engaging the clutch a few times, it would move again normally. I lubricated the clutch linkages located directly above the clutch and have never had the problem again.
As I recall there are several pivot points that serve an electronic module linked to the clutch. One must have been sticking.
WD-40 took care of it.

Update:

Tried the 3point and steering and they worked fine, so I dont think it is the hydraulics. Couldn't get it to move dumping the clutch in high gear- I think it must be electrical. The tractor is now waiting on a friendly tractor mechanic to find time to "take a look". I'll let you know how it turns out - thanks for all the posts.

BTW does anyone know if this tractor has a flashing LED that puts out error codes? I don't know where it is if it does have one; I have heard from others with similar tractors that it does have one.

Keep us posted on this, please. Might help somebody else.

If you have the e-Hydro(not yours) or the e-PoweReverser, there is a orange light on the right control panel. If you have a gear tractor it will not have one. There is a sequence of light flashes(codes) for any problem the tractor "sees" during its self check. Post the series of long/short flashes and we will tell you where to start looking.
